Being new to this area, can anyone tell me please if there is much value in re-selling a domain with a short name and the extention ". love"? Thanks.

nope, only real top level domains counts e.g. .com .org. .net .us etc..
the others need special plugin for users to see.. they really don't exist..

Did you pay anything for the .love domain? Because if you did...you were overcharged. :(
