Hi. I want to start my online business. In fact I want to convert my non-online-commercial-business in a fully-online-commercial-business. I found out that my country is in the 170 country list covered by ikobo.com (online payment service). They have very convenient fees and the iKard (Visa electron debit card they send to the customers on the first payment in their own ikobo's account) system works well for me. My question is that: what experiences do you have with this company and how can I use their IPN system (another great feature)? Do I need to know PHP to use IPN ? Please help

Since you say the system works well for you I'm guessing you already use them. I suppose you only use the online money transfer "system", otherwise it wouldn't make sense to ask us about using their cc processing service.
Anyway, to keep this short, my experience with them has been ok, and no you don't have to know PHP in order to use IPN. They give you some scripts to copy/paste and use as they are. Good luck with your site.

I just found something you may fount useful. It's a module to provide integration of the ikobo shopping cart into OSCommerce. It's located here (http://www.ostemplates.net/product_info.php?products_id=122 ) and it has a demo also. Let me know if you find this useful and if it does work indeed. Hope I helped...

:) Hello, I am using iKobo services for almost 1 year, i can say things are working good but users prefer PayPal, i have both PayPal and iKobo on my web site and I have about 1 iKOBO buyer at 50 PayPal buyers, but maybe if I only had iKobo users would use this one more. Fees are not big with iKobo and it`s available countries are more than PayPal.
My buyers usualy have problems when signing with iKobo because they usualy ask for scanned papers and ID`s of the new user.

Hello Adrian. I'm glad to see there are others like me, ikobo users I mean.
It's true they ask users to send some documents, but it's a security measure and it prevents fraudulent chargebacks and all sorts of stuff. I for one don't have a problem with it. It's a necessary evil sort of speak.

You are right, but yet I never heard of an ikobo fraud. Paypal instead has hundreds or maybe thousands of users getting ripped by hackers.

This can also be because PayPal is more popular.
Ikobo also has some problems accepting master card from time to time, visa works always, MC doesn`t.

True about paypal.
About ikobo now, indeed there were problems with buyers having to go through the verification process for each transaction, but now ikobo has removed this and streamlined the buy procedure. I for one noticed an increase in sales since this has happened. Could be only a coincidence... or not. :)

Do you mean ikobo has restructured the buy procedure as in simplified. This is true. Anyway, I talked with them and it's not their fault for not accepting MC. They try to change their provider in a month or so in order to get rid of those recurrent problems.

Yep, just what I meant. Simplified. It's been reduced to only one page where the customer enters the information, and voila. SOLD!
It's sad indeed about MasterCard, hope they'll work it out as soon as possible.

Yeah. I didn't have much MC buyers but as they already said it is a temporary situation. Their customer support told me that in fact it is not their fault and the situation will be back to normal in about a month. Let's hope this will happen sooner. :)

Well, I for one always told my customers to try and use Visa to be certain there won't be any problems. This MasterCard problem isn't affecting me all that much, but I really wish ikobo would take care of this real soon. I'm sure they will though!

The master card problem could be because...
They use verisign as I noticed and verisign has 2 types of processing services, one is not for all cards and something like that and has a limited number of transactions per month, maybe when they get to the limit set by verisign they have to wait untill next month. This would be very unprofessional for them but I would not be surprised.

VeriSign assures their customers that their website is secure and safe to use. Lately they had a massive increase of the number of customers which could only mean that their services (even with a temporary MC problem) are recognized as a reliable alternative to already established companies on this market.
