Which ebook on web design would you recommend me to read?

I'd start with O'Reilly books on HTML and CSS -- there are many of them, choose the ones that suit your level. It might also be useful to read a bit on user interfaces, because web design is about interaction and print/ad designers tend to stumble at first when doing web design. I think Wiley's About Face is a good book in that respect.

Other than than, there are a lot of ezines that a good web designers absolutely must read -- AListApart.com and SmashingMagazine.com come to mind.
