I just wanted to add to the previous posters that the difference between Linux and Windows for the amount of resources is different from one provider to another, say it's minimal in serverpoint.com plans.

Yes, I join. The fullfledged VPS for nearly $50, is good. However I do not like they 10GB 'limit' for space... But if 10GB is ok - Globaltap.com might become good opportunity ho host at VPS.

I have already mentioned ServerPoint so now I am going to share my opinion for Globaltap.com - this company is good, but still has some disadvantages, like fixed disk space not more than 10gigs, and full packages only, with no optional choise..., but they are prices reasonable, and services seem to be good also.. So it might become a good solution if the plans suit your requirements))

@OP: how is it going? have you found web host already?
I think that in your search some troubles can be. Proxy is not allowed on many web hostings

Good VPS deals could be found also at gazzin.com, which has really affordable prices and the overall impression of the company while browsinbg their site was good. So I think it is worth of looking up.
