What is the difference between EU and US datacenters?

All things being equal, the difference between EU and US datacenters is connection speed for your potential site visitors or clients. If your intended audience is in the US, you'd run your sites from a US datacenter. If your potential clients are in Europe, well, you get the picture.
The signal traveling below the entire ocean and back influences connection speed and latency, to a degree, but you are also dependent on the entire complex infrastructure performing without a hitch to deliver your content to visitors. The less routers, cables, etc. between your server and your visitors, the better.

You may have a look at Exmasters.com dedis, they have their datacenters in US and Europe. The services they provide are equal. I think it doesn't depend on the location of company's datacenter.

Well you're correct there. They are in a different company, even if they do have a little similarity but still they have difference in terms of their ways and features.
