I think cheap paid hosting is much better in many ways. They guarantee many features unlike free hosting.
You may start say from SharkSpace.com, Lypha.com or MMhosting.com.
Their low rate plans with many features will meet your needs.

Thats mostly true, but free hosting migh also be useful, in terms of experience gaining. After using free services you know what to wait from a hopst, whjat questions to ask your next provider., etc..

However everything depend on what is going to be hosted.

Free hosting can be use for getting experience IMO, paid is for serious business.

Paid Hostings gives you technologies such as PHP, MYSQL, ASP, etc. You wouldn't have ads on your site or would have to post on forums. Bigger space and bandwith than in free packages. You have 24/7 support. The uptime of the server is usually better than on free web hosting services.

Paid hosting claim to be more reliable, with stable uptime and support. You pay money, so the provider is interested in you.

The free hosts are not as reliable, because you are not the main income for them.

However there are some cases, when free host is more reliable than paid one.

If to start - free hosting might be good, but it is possibly better to get started from cheap hosting, like say, Webhostgiant.com. I think $2.79/mo isn't much.

You will always face problems with free hosting. They will impose advertisements on your site, speed connection will be low and you will be out of spirits respectively.
Taking the advantage of the opportunity I can recommend you paid hosting services from Hqhost.net, as it is reliable, cheap and stable.

Thank you guys for sharing your intelligent and extra-ordinary opinions. Nevertheless, I'd like to point out that paid option is more effective than free. Taking into account this fact, I want to ask you about Serverpoint.com and its comprehensive range of services. How do you think they offer affordable prices to some extend? The main feature of this company is that it is really flexible because of the variety of services. And what about its stability and uptime guarantee?

You know with free hosting a site that is frequently down will lose a lot of visitors. If someone finds your site on the search engine, and he tries to access it but find that it is down, he'll simply go down the list to find another site.
For this reason I can recommend you reliable hosting company Marblehost.com for your projects. It has a lot of interesting and effective features which can be found on its website.

I think that free hosting has limitations of lack of features it is better to go for paid hosting which provides more features and character to the website.

I think paid hosting is much better then free hosting in many ways. From paid hosting you can get 24 hour service and lot of free add space, paid hosting will allow more visitor where free hosting will not provide.

Usually it is better to start with a free hosting, because you would be able to see how it works and you get to know what questions to ask a provider going to the paid one.
But if you have a site project which is supposed to bring some income - the paid hosting would be better.

As for paid suggestion, I can recommend you looking up Webhostgiant.com - they are really cheap and provide wide range of features. Anв you do not risk much If you do not like their service.

Free Web Hosting is not better than Pre Paid Web Hosting, the obvious is it's free. There will never be fee for your domain name. Unfortunately that's about the only up side I can see. that's all

Free hosting will be helpful only to learn and gain experience. But when you see for business purpose paid hosting will be better and safe and too in paid hosting more features will be provided.

Better to go with the cheap but PAID hosting. Some hosts have plans with low resources for low price. For instance hqhost.net - has a starting plan for $0.99/mo. Enough good for hosting a static site.. Or light synamic content...
