Help with dynamic navigation box

Help, I want to put a navigation window onto the index page of my website. I want the window to move to the left and right as the mouse moves to the left and right. Instead of a static background color or image I want the window to scroll over the image and expose the image as the window moves. I understand this sounds confusing but think how I fel. An example of this can be seen on the Nike.com main page.

Please tell me where I can get the code to make this possible.
